About Hag Dyke

Hag Dyke is a remote mountain hostel in the Yorkshire Dales.

Once a working farmhouse, records of which can be traced back to the 1700’s, today Hag Dyke is managed by the 1st Ben Rhydding Scout Group as affordable hostel accommodation for groups of young people, such as Scouts, Guides and ATC, as well as groups of friends and outdoor enthusiasts. Hag Dyke provides an outstanding base for outdoor activities in the Yorkshire Dales.

Hag Dyke is unique and we believe one of the finest hostels in the country. Located at 1533ft on the slopes of Great Whernside, our remote location means we are off grid with power generated from renewable sources and water harvested from the hillside and treated on site. We also boast the highest chapel in England.

With accommodation for 38 people across four bedrooms and a fully equipped catering standard kitchen, we have everything your group needs. Explore the links above to learn more about what Hag Dyke has to offer and book your stay with us.
